Education and commerce of Bangladesh

The education is based on British System.
Traditional emphasis on arts and humanities and later in 1980’s on technical subject.

Major health hazards include infectious and parasitic disease, poor nutrition and inadequate sanitation.

Agriculture in Bangladesh is focused on rice, jute, tea, wheat, sugar cane, potatoes, tobacco, oilseeds, spices, fruit, beef, milk and poultry. They give importance to fisheries.

The industry is centered on manufacturing of jute, cotton textiles, ready made garments, tea processing, paper new sprint, cement, chemical fertilizers, light engineering, sugar and pharmaceutical.

Bangladesh is sufficient in natural gas for country’s nitrogenous fertilizers needs as well as rich in coal and timber. They also have a reserve of petroleum, on and offshore hydro-electrical and thermal resources.

The country export jute, frozen seafoods, ready made garments, tea, and leather goods to United States, Japan and Britain while they export food grains, fuel, raw cotton, fertilizers to their suppliers in Singapore, Japan and United States.
